Eataly: A Piece of Italy in Chicago

“Eataly” is located in the Shops at North Bridge, in 43 E Ohio St. Chicago, Illinois. This place offers its services from Monday to Sunday from 7:30 am to 10 pm.
The place offers the possibility to all those who walk and / or in their car to see the experience inside due to their large windows. When I arrive at the place,
the first thing that we can appreciate is the announcement, in which it appears the name of the place accompanied by the phrase "Eat better, live better". In the main entrance, we can appreciate the logo of this osteria and its opening and closing times. Inside “Eataly” it is a spacious 2-story lighted room that connects with two elevators and a pair of escalators. If we take a quick look around, we can find different phrases on the walls, of a size large enough for those who want to read it. Among these phrases or messages, I find one that particularly caught my attention because of the directness and diverse interpretation that can have, and says “Life is too short not to drink well”. The space is divided into food and drinks stations. Also, the place has a fresh market,a food utensils, a restaurants and pre-packaged products.

The main attraction of Eataly is their fresh food product. The place is full of Italian flavors. The food is distributed through what we call Food Stations. In the local we can find:
-La Focacceria: A place where you can find a number of delicious focaccia and pizzas to eat in the place or to take away. Just watching them, the mouthwatering. In its exhibition we can find focaccia and pizzas with topping of prosciutto, mushrooms, mozzarella, five cheeses, and vegetables.
-La Piazza: It is the central restaurant of the place where you can taste from a combined plate of several cheeses and hams to a creamy seafood pasta. We can also find the Nutella station, La Birreria, La Panetteria  Bakery, La Pasta Fresca E Di Gragnano, Il Banco del Salumi and Formanggi, and of course its market for fish, vegetables and fresh fruits.Taking into account that the menu served there has a preparation made by hand and using fresh products, prices are a bit high. However, the price-quality ratio makes this place worth your money spent. During my visit I ordered one of the typical preparations of Italian cuisine such as focaccia. This delicious spongy bread, with a subtle smell of spices had a topping of homemade tomato sauce and on it some delicate slices of fresh mozzarella, basil leaves and long slices of prosciutto. All these exquisitely integrated
ingredients transported my palate to a great Italian osteria. The price that I paid for a focaccia and a realItalian Cola drink did not reach more than 7 dollars. In consequence, it was a good money invested in a typicalproduct, fresh and full of flavors.

The place has a great service specialized in Italian products. The innkeepers and workers offer their clients and tourists personal attention and quality. For example, I needed to buy a good piece of Parmesan cheese. Due to the great variety of products, I could not know which one was the best. So look for the recommendation of one of the vendors who very kindly allowed me to taste a couple of Parmesan cheeses so that I could select the one I liked best.In addition, the staff is currently offering information and recommending Italian products for consumption during Easter such as lamb, cake, wines and others.

"Eataly" is characterized for being an interactive place with its clients. They are constantly planning events and courses to which they can attend or participate. For example, this weekend is the “Wine Festival, Tuscany, in which the client will have the opportunity to taste different wines of the region and try some gastronomic specialties. On March 23, the “Spring Festival” will be held. In this event people can try dishes inspired by spring, herb-infusion cocktails, house made mozzarella and freshly-sliced prosciutto, Italian wines and live music. To participate in these events it is necessary to make reservations and pay in advance. The “Spring Festival”event costs $ 75 per person.

Definitely, "Eataly" is an amazing place where quality and freshness are mixed. It is a modern place that invites us to delight our palate with typical and succulent preparations. It is a place to drink the most delicious wine, taste a spongy focaccia or eat a real pasta dish with napoleon sauce accompanied by an explosive and unique Parmesan. It is a place for those people who enjoy good food. "Eataly" is a highly recommended place where you will be transported to the most delicious place in Italy.
