Hometown Poem

Image
The city with the most beautiful women in  the world. A paradise of red roofs. Fierce as a white shark with the pointy teeth waiting for action, persistent as a child learning to walk. Under the majestic protection of Waraira Repano, which is still admired and longed for by its people with enthusiasm. Now, she is the witness in the first row of human barbarism. Today you are a city of contrasts. Under the distrust, fear all over, under the insecure hand of destiny. My hometown, where I can not go back. Now tell me you are corrupt and I believe them, for I have seen mayors under the mask of hipocresy and lie. Tell me you are conflict and I answer "Yes, it is true because I have seen the cruelest clashes between its honest citizens and the National Guard". Tell me you are creepy and my reply is "On the streets, I have seen the paviment painted with the most intense red after a bullet". My hometown, how much have you changed, and I can not go back.

My Song Memory

In 2004 my father and I watched an emotional movie called "Up town girls" on television. Part of this movie towards mention to a song that had been written by the father of the protagonist. This song is called "Molly Smiles". When we heard it, my father told me "I dedicate this song, my daughter". Even though we are 3 sisters, the relationship between my father and I was always very special. He was everything to me. I never imagined that my father would die a couple of months later. When I hear that song, it reminds me of him. At that moment he gave me the strength to keep moving forward despite his painful departure. Today, that song I listen to with my daughter and I talk about her grandpa Gustavo. I hope you like the song. P.D: The movie is also very beautiful and with a wonderful message.
